Problem:
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering and has been resolved in Domino
Web Access (DWA) 6.5.3.
Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.5.3 MR fix list (available at
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus/):
Mail
SPR# DJAG5RGNNK - After choosing an entry from the Public Directory in Name
Picker, the corresponding Contact name was used.
For example, if User A sends mail to User B. And User B uses "Add Sender to
Contacts" to create an entry in Contacts for User A. There is now an entry for
User A in both Contacts and the Domino Directory. User B composes a new mail
message. He uses Name Picker to select User A from his Domino Directory.
The information from the entry in Contacts is used when the message is sent,
not the information from the Domino Directory. This is a problem because the
info in Contacts may not always match the info in the Directory. Since User B
explicitly chose an entry from the Directory, that info should be used. This
problem has been fixed in 6.0.5 and 6.5.3.
Steps to reproduce issue:
1. User A sends a mail message to User B.
2. User B opens the message and selects Tools > Add Sender to Contacts to
create an entry for User A. There is now an entry for User A in both User B's
Contacts List and the Domino Directory.
3. User B composes a new mail message and uses the Name Picker to select User
A from the Domino Directory. User B notices, however, that the user
information from the entry in Contacts is used when the message is sent instead
of the information from the Domino Directory.
This is a problem because the user information in Contacts may not always match
the information in the Directory. Since User B explicitly chose an entry from
the Directory, that information should be used rather than that of Contacts. More >
